About the Chicago Riverwalk

The Chicago Riverwalk is a beautiful pedestrian trail along the south bank of the Chicago River, stretching from Lake Shore Drive to Lake Street.

The Riverwalk is broken into six unique blocks, each with its own nickname, offerings, and landscaping:

The Marina: Restaurants and outdoor seating provide amazing views of the water, including passing boats and water taxis.
The Cove: Accommodates kayak rentals from Urban Kayak , watercraft docking, and sightseeing tours.
The River Theater: A sculptural staircase linking Upper Wacker and the Riverwalk offers seating and access to the water’s edge, while trees provide shade and greenery.
The Water Plaza: Offers the opportunity to engage with the water at the river’s edge.
The Jetty: A series of piers and floating wetland gardens offers an interactive learning environment about the ecology of the river, including opportunities for fishing and identifying native plants.
The Boardwalk: An accessible walkway and new marine edge that creates continuous access to Lake Street.

Chicago Symphony Orchestra Parking

We recommend our Grant Park South Garage at 325 South Columbus Drive. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra is located at 220 S. Michigan Ave. Grant Park South Garage is conveniently located just steps away from the entrance of the CSO.

Please note: The escalator leading to the garage is currently undergoing repairs, we do apologize for the inconvenience. However, there is elevator access on the east side of Michigan Avenue, just south of the Art Institute entrance.

For convenient, off-site parking for Navy Pier, we recommend parking at Millennium Lakeside Garage located at 5 South Columbus Drive, a short 20-minute walk away. This garage shares the same vehicle entrance as Millennium Park Garage.

Drive-up reduced rate validated parking ($14 for 12 hours) is also available. Present your ticket at the Navy Pier Guest Services Desk for validation to receive the $14 discounted parking rate. The Guest Services desk is located inside the front entrance at Navy Pier.

We recommend parking at our Millennium Lakeside Garage, which is located beneath Maggie Daley Park and offers direct access from the garage.

Once you have entered through the lanes of Millennium Lakeside Garage, follow the garage to the left (north) towards Randolph. Elevators are located in the northeast corner of the garage and take you to upper Randolph.
